Fusing best practice with a positive graduate experience

At Fusion, we understand that graduates are the most discerning candidate pool in the corporate market. Graduate Candidates will not tolerate laborious screening processes or seemingly meaningless interview questions, they expect selection processes to reflect the culture and brand of the organisation they apply for. In order to capture the imagination of graduate candidates whilst ensuring a fair and equitable process, Fusion uses a range of proven assessment techniques.

Our Assessment centres use face validity with fun and engaging activities. Based on our research on topics that engage Generation Y, we design assessment centres that intrigue your graduates and create a level of curiosity to enhance engagement.  This factor is balanced by the ‘job relevance’ factor which ensures that graduates believe in the process and perceive it as reflective of the career they are pursuing. In essence, graduates who experience our assessment centres walk away feeling like they have been challenged, have a realistic understanding of the role and company, and have enjoyed the relaxed and fun environment.

One of the greatest criticisms of the traditional assessment centre process is that it favours extroverts. At Fusion, we have fused traditional methods (i.e. group activities) with a more individualistic approach (i.e. solo activities) to ensure that all graduates, regardless of personality style, have the opportunity to shine. All graduates are required to participate in a range of activities including solo, pairs and groups to demonstrate their competence across a number of scenarios. Thus, the less socially confident graduates still have ample opportunities to demonstrate their potential.

We recognise that no-one understands your business like you do. At Fusion, we use the experience of your managers with that of our trained assessors to enable cross-pollination of skills. Our assessors are psychologists, HR professionals and recruitment experts with thorough training in behavioural assessment. During our assessment centres, we pair each of our assessors with one of your assessors who work together as assessment partners. We also train your assessors in the fundamentals of behavioural assessment. Thus, we have lively discussion about your graduates based on a balance between behavioural observation and business fit, objective assessment and intuitive judgement.
At Fusion, we use a multi-dimensional methodology that includes psychometric testing, assessment centres and behavioural interviews to ensure your graduates are assessed from a number of perspectives. Research indicates that the greater the number of data points, the more powerful the predictive validity of the process.

Fusion uses the latest assessment technologies and methodologies to maximise your opportunity to select the best graduates in the market.
